All over the world ordinary people are coming together to do extraordinary things - to create better futures for themselves, their communities and the ENVIRONMENT we all share.

this work is vital - as we exist at a moment where the majority of the world are facing multiple crises; rising inequality, biodiversity loss, plastics in the ENVIRONMENT, climate change, or the rising corporatisation of essential resources.

This movement away from top down control, and towards self empowerment at local and community level - offers the most powerful hope most people have of CREATING A BETTER FUTURE FOR THEMSELVES.

WHY THIS PROJECT?

We believe in the power of local collective action, when networked together nationally and internationally, to change the world.

In fact, we believe that some element of local collective action is vital to face any of our biggest challenges.

Collective action at the local level can empower all of us to deploy our creativity and wisdom, and it helps us overcome the separation that has developed around how we gain secure access to our basic needs.

we focus on TELLING STORIES THAT…

1: address a basic essential monthly need for most people — food, housing, energy, transport, or CommUNITY ENGAGEMENT.

2: are accessible enough for most of us to participate in, ambitious enough to spread and create systemic change, and part of a network and movement that ACTUALLY CREATE THE FUTURE THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WANT TO LIVE IN.

3: increase connection between people and their basic needs, so they can better see and understand how to provide for their needs in ways that are good for them, good for the world, and good for other communities.

we believe SHARING THESE STORIES IS POWERFUL, but don’t want this website to become full of chin stroking theory when amazing stories of people changing their world is probably more powerfuL. But if you want to chat theories of change over a virtual (or real) cuppa, drop us a line.
